Swimming Pool Evening Exercise for those in Pain
- During pregnancy, your hormone levels change dramatically to cause changes in your body
- A hormone called relaxin causes a softening of the ligaments of the pelvic joints
- In some women the softening of the pelvic ligaments can cause discomfort or pain
- This is known as Pelvic Joint Dysfunction (PJD)
- Exercising in water is comfortable as buoyancy enables low or zero impact exercise
- The hydrostatic pressure of water supports your pelvis
- This can be ongoing treatment or a single session prior to joining the water aerobic classes
- We include core stability, strengthening exercises and pelvic floor exercises
- After childbirth it is safe to commence at 6 weeks
- You do not need to be able to swim
- You must attend an individual land based appointment for assessment
- We will assess your exercise requirements and tailor an aqua program to your specific needs
- You are charged an individual consultation fee and rebates apply
